The only things that The Professor knew were that he was in pain and that it was dark. He had only felt physical pain once before in his life and that was at the hands of a grade twelve student at his old high school. Shockingly The Professor had made it into high school before he felt the permanent scarring that bullying inflicts on its victims. That was also the last time he was ever bullied and the first time his parents had ever been called down to the police station to collect their son.

As he lay in the darkness, his right arm throbbing he remembered that day vividly as the searing pain brought back his childhood memories. He remembered the bully well. He remembered thinking that the boy that had beaten him resembled a knuckle-dragging Neanderthal and that he had the vocabulary of a second grader, a remedial second grader at best. Just like every other bully at every other school on the entire planet, the lower end of the gene pool. It was a turning point of sorts for The Professor and the beginning of his hatred of the human form. He vowed that day that he would make the human race better and that sent him down his path of genetic research in hopes of one day achieving his goal.

With his left hand, The Professor started feeling around the floor next to him hoping to get his bearings. As he patted the floor his hand touched a leg. He ran his hand up the distinctly female leg.

Zu?” he queried.

“Susie” was the reply.

The Professor hastily removed his hand from her leg, “Oh…I…I am so sorry”.

Even in the dark and trapped Suzie could not help herself and chuckled, “Well don’t stop now honey, what else are we going to do until we get rescued?”

The Professor groaned and instructed her to keep her comments to herself.

The silence lasted for what seemed like hours until finally, the light began to invade their makeshift den.

As the light grew more intense The Professor made out the silhouette of his prize creation. The Has had singlehandedly pulled the massive cement column from on top of them and was hurling fridge-sized blocks of concrete away from his beloved creator. Moments later Karl had joined in and within only a few minutes both Suzie and The Professor had been freed.

The Professor stood up clutching his arm as Suzie rushed to Karl and the Has and embraced them both. She then turned her attention to The Professor and smiled a wry smile. As she pulled him close and thanked him for creating such a strong creature Dr. Zu walked through what had once been the front door of the warehouse.

“Well, well, well,” she said to The Professor, “I leave for a few minutes and not only do you blow the place up I find you in the arms of this hussy! Care to explain yourself, Mister?”

As Suzie broke her embrace, The Professor looked at his alluring, yet perturbed, wife, “Indeed I do my Dear. We were the victims of those blue devils and their helicopter from hell but Has and Karl here saved the day. Suzie was trapped with me, that is all. We need to get everyone together and relocate to the second safe house as quickly as possible, they will be back to make sure they finish us off. Karl, you and Has round up all the firepower we have and load it in the trucks. Suzie, try to find Lady T and the others. Dr. Zu and I will salvage what is left of the lab and grab our cash reserves”.

As Suzie walked past Dr. Zu to begin her search she paused face to face with her, their noses almost touching and put her hand on her cheek. “It’s okay Zu Zu” she whispered, “Men are merely my hobby, beautiful women are my weakness” she let her soft fingers trail down Dr. Zu’s cheek and ran out of the room laughing maniacally.

As she stood in a daze The Professor grabbed her hand and they headed for the lab, “Come on Dear, snap out of it we need to vacate this place pronto!”

The trucks loaded, The Has, Karl, Suzie, Dr. Zu, The Professor, Lady T, Lucas and the Hooligan started the engines and were about to leave as Mike walked up, “What did I miss?”

The Professor looked down at Mike from the cab of his truck, “My, my, the prodigal son hath returned. I am sure you have a dashing tale to tell us but it will have to wait. Hop in the back we are leaving.” Mike clambered into the rig and the trucks sped off into the night.

Dr. Zu looked at her husband as he ground the gears headed northwest, “What is your plan? What do we do now?”

The Professor kept his eyes on the road dodging the burnt-out remnants of the cars that littered the streets, “Well my Dear, the plan is taking shape in my rather large cranium as we speak. The particulars are not quite fleshed out yet but I can tell you this; the last time a bully picked a fight with me he lost and then he disappeared. I can only assume this time will be no different.”
