In this video, Lilo discusses Nostalgia Gaming!

Nostalgia is a big trend in gaming from the use of sequels to remastered classics to new games that pay homage to older games. Some think sequels and remastered games will ruin gaming by stifling new games. Lilo lists four games that do nostalgia right:

  • Shovel Knight
  • Celeste
  • Stardew Valley
  • Cuphead

This is a good way to introduce old games to new gamers. It is a trend and a strategy at the same time.

I remember seeing an article about a classic game sort of hall of fame museum. This will be a good supplement to that and a fresh look to new gamers.

  3. Nostalgia gaming indeed makes me nostalgic. I would still want to go for Cuphead. I know it’s going to be another favorite on my list.

I don’t think nostalgia gaming would ruin the industry. Gamers love the good things back in a different way. That is what I know happens all the time. I get to play lots of games that looks and has same experience like older games but are just different in levels of difficulty. It felt good to have played those games.

  5. Chatingale says:

Some games were inspired by classic games. They just keep on improving the versions to go with the trend.

  6. Era says:

Stardew Valley and Cuphead are just the best! Despite Cuphead’s difficulty I thoroughly enjoyed the game. As for Stardew Valley, it’s definitely a cute and chill game for those who miss Harvest moon games back in the day! Thanks for the the cool list Lilo!

Remastered is not a new thing but rather a trend that can be used to attract new audiences. In this case gamers

  8. alexsummers123 says:

Cuphead remastered? Excuse me did I miss something? If I am correct Cuphead is a new game.

  9. These games proves that doing some upgrades is not 100% disaster at all. It just needs to be relatable to the current generation, but still keeping its core concept.

  10. Cuphead is the most famous remastered classic that I know. It’s remastered version is a success and received a lot of love. It’s one of my favorite games.
