Hello, hello my fellow gamers. Today’s a great blog full of free games! I’m pretty excited about sharing it with you. It’s a new month, which means new free games on the Xbox Marketplace and in the PlayStation Store. However, there are a few computer games are free as well.

Let’s get the computer games over with before I get to the meat of this post (Xbox and PlayStation). This weekend on Steam you can play Fallout 4 for free. If you decide you just can’t do without this game, then you can get it for 50% off until February 12th. If you want the Game of the Year edition, that is 40% off. It includes Fallout 4 – Automatron, Fallout 4 – Wasteland Workshop, Fallout 4 Far Harbor, Fallout 4 – Contraptions Workshop, Fallout 4 Vault-Tec Workshop, and Fallout 4 Nuka-World. All for $35.

On Steam, you can also play Rock of Ages 2: Bigger & Boulder for free this weekend. Also, the game is 50% off if you decide to buy it.

Lastly, let me tell you about Final Fantasy VII – The Zodiac Age. It’s 20% off until February 8th, making it $40. This is a high definition remaster that has just come out for the computer.

Alright, let me get to the free games for consoles this month, starting with Xbox.

Shadow Warrior  – Available February 1 to 28 on Xbox One

This 2013 reboot of the original 1997 game is a first-person shooter with decent ratings. It has a 73/100 on Metacritic and an 8.6/10 on IGN. In this game, you are a modern ninja mercenary who fights hordes of demons.

Zombi – Available January 16 to February 15 on Xbox One

The Xbox One version of this came out in 2015 and had reasonably good reviews with a 72 on Metacritic and 7.5 on IGN. This is a first-person, survival horror game. You play as a survivor of the Zombie Apocalypse and are tasked by the mysterious character, the Prepper, to find the cure for the zombie infection.

Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India – Available February 16 to March 15 on Xbox One

This is a re-imagining of the Assassin’s Creed series. The Chronicles game gives a 2.5D, side-scrolling experience. There are three games in the Chronicles series, India being the second (China the first and Russia the last). India takes place in 1841 and stars Arbaaz Mir. This has a 64/100 on Metacritic. There are some mixed reviews, claiming Chronicles is too simple.

Split/Second – Available February 1 to 15 on Xbox One and Xbox 360

This racing game came out in 2010 with ratings of 82 on Metacritic and 8.5 on IGN. This is all about reality tv, where you are racing for fame, glory, and money while the masses watch. The watchers are also allowed to trigger special events, such as obstacles or shortcuts. This game can also be played with up to 8 players online.

Crazy Taxi – Available February 16 to 28 on Xbox One and Xbox 360

This is an open world racing video game that was published by Sega in 1999. The ratings are mediocre for the 360–59 on Metacritic and 6/10 on IGN. Despite that, it was a trendy game in its day. In the game, you pick up customers and get them to their destination as fast as possible. You can earn money doing “stunts,” like nearly missing collisions.

Knack, PS4

Knack is a platform, beat-em-up video game that was released in 2013 and has pretty mixed reviews with a 54 on Metacritic and 5.9 on IGN. The gameplay is something between Crash Bandicoot and Katamari Damacy. Also, the gameplay perspective is based on God of War.

RiME, PS4

This is an adventure, puzzle game that just released May of 2017 for PlayStation. The game has positive reviews with am 80 on Metacritic and 6.5 on IGN. The game is known for being very visually pleasing. However, some complain it’s shallow. You play as a boy who washed up on the shore of an abandoned island. Through interacting with your surroundings, you solve puzzles.

Spelunker HD, PS3

This platformer video game came out in 2010 in North America and had limited ratings. Out of 17 reviewers on Metacritic, it has a 56/100. This is a remake of the NES 1985 version. The only difference is improved graphics and 100 new levels.

Mugen Souls Z, PS3

This role-playing game was released in 2014 in North America. It is a sequel to Mugen Souls and has mixed reviews with a 57% on Metacritic but 8/10 on Steam. The battles are turned-based tactical RPG style. In this game, you play the goddess Syrma who is trying to stop an ancient threat.

Exiles End, PS Vita

This action platformer came out in 2016 and had pretty good ratings with a 63 on Metacritic and 6/10 on Steam. This game was made to give you nostalgia for retro games. This is a side-scroller that is exploration driven.

Grand Kingdom, PS Vita (Also available on PS4)

This is a tactical role-playing game that released in 2016 in North America. It has positive reviews with a 73 on Metacritic. You control a group of mercenaries in turn-based battles. You complete quests by the four nations who are battling for dominance.

  3. I got a chance to played Rime in my friend’s house and it’s really good. It deserves the positive reviews that it gets. I recommend everyone to try Rime 🙂 You’ll definitely enjoy it!

  7. Never heard of Rime before, but It got me curious just by seeing its game poster. It has a minimalist design and I find it attractive and beautiful. Thanks for introducing me to this game.

    Yeheeey! One of my favorite open world racing game is on sale. I love playing crazy taxi since I was a kid. I used to play it on arcade centers, but now I can play it in my phone.
