I’m very excited about this weekend’s video game sales. The underwater open-world survival Subnautica just had its official release, and I got my hands on a copy! I’m putting aside Cook, Serve, Delicious 2 and am going to binge this game so hard all weekend. Do you guys have any new games you’re playing this weekend? If not, then it’s a good thing you’re reading my blog today. I’ve collected video game sales because if we don’t have to pay full price, we shouldn’t.
The end of January is fast approaching, and that means we can soon expect to find out what free games will be given away for Xbox Gold and PlayStation Plus members. However, there’s still a little time to go until they announce those free games. Next week I’ll have the list for you of every game, including their ratings and descriptions. This also means there isn’t much time left to get January’s free games. Check out my blog about that here, so you don’t miss out.
Onto the sales. The first is a flash sale you need to hop on quick because it only has one day left. Humble Bundle is giving away the entire Amnesia Collection for free. Check that out here. This is two games! Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, and Amnesia: The Dark Descent. These games are freaky. They are first-person survival games that have you immersed in a horrifying setting all the while having some type of amnesia. The first game–The Dark Descent— has very positive reviews, even a full 10/10 on Steam. The second game has positive reviews as well, but not quite as amazing as the first. Well worth the zero dollars it costs you at the moment.

Humble Bundle is giving away these games because they are doing an encore of their winter sale. Here is the sale’s homepage. They’ve put hundreds of games back on sale. Things like 60% off Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, 40% Ark: Survival Evolved (I like bare-fist punching dinosaur butts in this game), and Planet Coaster for 75% off. Though, like I said, there are hundreds of games. Worth a look-see if you are in the market for a new game.
Steam has some pretty good deals this week if I do say so. It’s a free weekend for Black Desert Online, a somewhat popular MMORPG. It’s also 50% off until Monday 10 AM PT if you decide to purchase it. Which means it currently costs a whopping $5. Not bad for what looks like a good MMO. They also sell more expensive packages for this game, and each one is 50% right now.

The other big deal for Steam this weekend is all about FarCry. Most the games are 70% off and the ones that aren’t are 50% off. The only one in the franchise not on sale is the most recent--Far Cry 5. These are a first-person shooter series all about mayhem and over-throwing somebody that deserves to be taken out of power.

Fanatical is running a new bundle. They call it the Nemesis Bundle, and it costs $1. Hard to say no to that price. Here is the bundle’s webpage. For that one dollar, you will get four games, worth $55. If you bump up to the next tier for $5, you will get an additional eight games. Finally, you can go to the third tier, paying $10. You will only get two extra games at tier 3, and those two games have mediocre reviews. I’d probably stick with tier two unless you already wanted the games in tier 3 (Gloria Victis and Lords of the Fallen: Digital Deluxe Edition).
If you are a PlayStation gamer, then there is a new sale going on. This sale is called the PlayStation Essentials Sale, and its homepage is here. The games are up to 60% off with PlayStation Plus, and up to 50% off without Plus. You can also get 10% off your total order with either of these codes:
This sale ends January 30th, 8 AM PT. What this sale has is a bunch of big names, popular titles, a lot of semi-recent games, or just titles that are currently relevant (because they have a sequel coming out soon). Grand Theft Auto games, Hellblade, Call of Duty: WWII, BioShock: The Collection, Destiny 2, and many more. They mostly have games for PS4, but PS3 and Vita are not left out.
