Lilo's Lair #81: Free Game Friday and Competition #1 Winner Announced! Presented by Saljack Enterprises. Gaming. Animation. Media. Entertainment. Woman Owned.

Hello hello hello my fellow gamers. Today is the big announcement of who’s won the Amazon eGiftcard competition. You excited? This is a first collaborated competition between Saljack and myself and I wouldn’t be surprised if we have another in the very near future. Hmm, better keep your ears open because I may have some details about that on Monday’s vlog! *Wink Wink*

Alright, without further ado the winner of the first $25 Amazon eGiftcard Competition is Joe V. with Twitter handle @kanyonwow. We’ll be sending out an email to you today, please respond back confirming which email you’d like the prize delivered to. Congratulations! Don’t spend it all in one place. Oh, um, I mean please do, because it’s a gift card for Amazon.

Don’t worry if you haven’t won this week because this coming Monday we will have details for the next Competition #2!

Okay, now everyone is a winner when it comes to the rest of my blog because this week’s gaming deal blog is all about free games. It is the start of December, and that means a new list of free games for Xbox Gold and PlayStation Plus. Don’t have either? Neither do I. check out Humble Bundle’s store here for sales. There is even a free game in there at this very moment. If that is not enough then, there is a particular spot on Reddit devoted to gaming deals that happens to have an impressive list of game deals this week from Gamesplanet. Check that out here.

That will cover us PC gamers. If you are Nintendo all the way, then congratulations on owning the system that has two of the best-voted games of the year (Mario Odyssey and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild). That will have to keep you warm from the cold reality that there just isn’t many game deals for you.

Now, the free Xbox Games for December:

Warhammer: End Times, Vermintide  – XONE (Dec 1-31)

1

IMAGE FROM STEAM

This is a first-person shooter and action game. It does indeed take place in the Warhammer universe. It is a multiplayer only game. If you’ve played Left 4 Dead, then this game is set up like that. You can team up with three other players to battle Skaven–a monster rat race. The ratings are mostly positive with the average around the 7 to 8 range out of a possible ten.

Back to the Future: The Game, 30th Anniversary Edition – XONE (Dec. 16-Jan.15)

2

IMAGE FROM AMAZON

This is an adventure single player game. It is a side-view, arcade game. The goal of the game is getting George McFly to spend time with Lorraine so that they fall in love and Marty gets to be born. The reviews are okay. Microsoft gives it a 4.5/5, but some critics weren’t huge fans.

Child of Eden – Xbox 360 (Dec. 1-15)

3

IMAGE FROM GAME INFORMER

This is a rhythm action game. You shoot at objects that make a sound. The creator considers it an experiment with synesthesia (simulation of one sensory pathway is accompanied by activation of another sensory pathway). It has an 84% on Metacritic–not a bad score at all!

Marlow Briggs and the Mask of the Death – Xbox 360 (Dec. 16-31)

4

IMAGE FROM STEAM

This is an action-adventure hack and slash, single player game. The control scheme is similar to that of Devil May Cry and God of War. The game deals with stolen girlfriends and ancient Mayan sites. The ratings are middle of the road with a 65% on Metacritic.

PlayStation 4 Title. Presented by Saljack Enterprises. Gaming. Animation. Media. Entertainment. Woman Owned.

Now, the PlayStation Plus lineup. These games will be available starting December 5th:

Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition – PS4

5

IMAGE FROM STEAM

This is an action role-playing, hack and slash game (that’s a mouthful). In this sequel, you are Death, one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. You are on a personal mission to clear your brother’s name and prove his innocence. It has positive reviews, with an 84/100 on Metacritic and GameRankings.

Forma 8 – PS4

6

IMAGE FROM POCKET META

This game is a bonus for PS4, an extra game this month because it is also being released for Vita. This is a Metroidvania action-adventure. You fly around in a spaceship, exploring this cool looking world and pew-pewing the baddies. It has positive reviews with a 76% on Metacritic.

Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of the Legendary Legends – PS4

7

IMAGE FROM PLAYSTATION

This is a fighting game based on the Kung Fu Panda movies of which I’m a fan. I mean pandas, cartoons, and kung fu…I was sold right away. Anyway, there isn’t much to tell about this game. It has the movie character’s, and you fight. The ratings are average with a 63% on Metacritic.

That’s You (EU only) – PS4

8

IMAGE FROM PLAYSTATION

This game is for European gamers only. In this game, you use your smartphone or tablet as a controller. You play in groups of 2-6 and get asked a series of questions about the other players. You secretly answer who you think the description matches. It has average ratings.

Until Dawn: Rush of Blood (PSVR) – PS4

9

IMAGE FROM PLAYSTATION

This is a virtual reality game only. It is all about going through a haunted carnival. It is a survival, horror game. There is a lot of replay value in this game. However, it is overall a pretty short game. The ratings are positive with a 72% on Metacritic.

Xblaze Lost: Memories – PS3

10

IMAGE FROM PLAYSTATION

This is a visual novel single player game that is a sequel to Xblaze Lost: Embryo. You stumble into an alternate world while searching for your missing sister. In this world, you must collect memory crystals to get out. The reviews are positive to average with a 63% on Metacritic.

Syberia Collection – PS3

11

IMAGE FROM ORIGIN

These are graphic adventure games and includes Syberia 1 and 2. The main character is a New York lawyer. She is traveling across Russia trying to finish a deal for her law firm. This is a great time to pick up these games if you haven’t played them and are interested in the latest release, Syberia 3 (which came out this past April). The reviews are definitely positive, and the game has won awards.

Forma 8 – PSVita

Read description above for details.

Wanted Corp – PSVita

12

IMAGE FROM STEAM

This is a top-down action game. You play as two bounty hunters on a hostile planet. This is single-player or multiplayer–online or couch co-op. There are not a lot of reviews for this game. Seven people gave the PS3 version on Metacritic a 59.

  14. First person shooting games are really my faves. I’m not soooo pro but, I’m definitely not a noob. That’s why I’m so happy to see Warhammer going for free this month.
