Lilo's Lair #77: Black Friday Deals Part 1, Consoles. Presented by Saljack Enterprises. Gaming. Animation. Media. Entertainment. Woman Owned.

Woah, you guys. Thanksgiving is in a week! It certainly snuck up on me this year. I feel like I’m still in the afterglow of Halloween. Anyone else going to watch Planes, Trains, and Automobiles in preparation for Thanksgiving? You can’t beat comedy classics like that with Steve Martin and John Candy. What other Thanksgiving movies are there, anyway? I don’t know of any.

Now, the day after Thanksgiving is, of course, Black Friday. The day of massive deals and braving the cold and dark to stand in line with a bunch of other people looking to get the same deal as you. I absolutely hate Black Friday. I’ve gone out twice. Once I thought it would be an “experience” and stood in line with family at Toys R Us. It was cold, and I was tired. What more do I need to say? The next time I planned to wait at Target, but I drove by, saw the line, felt the utter pain inside me for sleep, and turned around to go home. Haha. Both times I wasn’t adequately motivated though since I wasn’t shopping, just going with a family who insisted they wanted me to go with them.

Well, this year is different because I’m fully aware of all the deals! Thankfully, some are online so thank god for that. I have two days of blogs for these deals. Today is all about consoles. Tomorrow will be about computers and computer parts. Let’s start!

Walmart

Walmart’s Black Friday sales start 6PM on Thanksgiving. Which may be horrible if you have Thanksgiving Dinner actually at dinner time. Luckily for me, my family has always done Thanksgiving at lunch. Then we shuffle around the house sated and delirious on too much turkey until we can cram some more in later. Walmart’s online sale doesn’t start until 12:01 Friday, November 24th.

There appears to be no deal on Nintendo Switch, but it’s featured in their ad. Which means you can expect for them to have some in stock at full price. There is also a Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 2DS bundle for $79.

The 1 TB PlayStation 4 is $199 (a hundred dollars off) and the Xbox One (500 GB) is $189  (about $61 dollars off).

The PS4 Gran Turismo Sports VR Bundle is a hundred dollars off, costing $299.

There are sales for console accessories as well (controllers and such), as well as games. Some games on sale are as follows:

  • Legend of Zelda: Breath of Wild special edition (Switch) – $49
  • Call of Duty: WWII (XONE, PS4) – $43
  • Horizon: Zero Dawn (PS4) – $19
  • Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands (PS4) – $19
  • WWE 2K18 (PS4) – $29
  • Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (PS4) – $29
  • Grand Theft Auto V (PS4) – $29
  • South Park: The Fractured But Whole – $29
  • 1-2 Switch – $29

You guys, there are a bunch of games on sale. They have collections of games at the price point of $19, $12, and even $9. Check out the Walmart Black Friday ad here. Most the game deals start on page 6.

Target

Same hours here you guys. The sales start 6PM on Thanksgiving day.

Yet again, the Switch is not at a discount. Seems we should just be happy places have it in stock at all–haha. Can’t blame stores for that. However, Xbox One (500GB) is only $189, and they will give you a $25 Target gift card. The PlayStations 4 (1TB) is $200. Lastly, on for the consoles Legend of Zelda green, 2DS is $80.

There are controllers on sale ($40), $10 discounts on Xbox Gold and PlayStation Plus subscriptions. There are indeed a bunch of game deals as well.

  • Call of Duty: WWII – $45
  • Forza Horizon 3 – $15
  • Final Fantasy XV – $15
  • Resident Evil 7 – $15
  • Skyrim Special Edition – $15
  • Overwatch – $30
  • Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus – $30

You guys, so many games. I just can’t list them all. Here is the Target ad. The video game deals start on page 9.

New Egg

An online store, music to my ears. Also, the deals start November 20th. You are going to notice a trend in the prices in all the places I list. PlayStation 4 1TB is $199, Xbox One S is $190, and controllers for both are $40 (twenty dollars off). The PlayStation VR Gran Turismo Sports bundle is $299.99, but they also have the Oculus Rift with Touch controllers for $349.99. Both those VR sets are normally $400.

Here is the ad for you to check out. No game deals from these guys.

Jet

What’s great about Jet is some deals aren’t only one day. For instance, the PlayStation 4 Slim is $199 (a hundred dollars off), and the sale runs the 19th-27th! It’s nice not to feel panicked about getting a one day deal. The Xbox One S is also on sale more days than one. It costs $189 and is on sale the 23rd-27th.

Check out their Black Friday preview here.

Toys R Us

Toys R Us will open a full hour earlier than Target and Walmart. That is 5PM. Also, their doors are not closing at all until Black Friday is over. Some of their online deals will start as early as 9PM the day before Thanksgiving (November 22nd).

So, they are running the same console deals as most other places. 1 TB PS4 for $199 and Xbox One S for $189. They also have controllers for both for $40 and the LucidSound LS20 wired gaming headset for $40 (regularly $80). Now, here are some games (not all of them):

  • Assassin’s Creed Origins (Xbox One) –  $39.99
  • Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy (PS4) –  $24.99
  • Destiny 2 (PS4) – $24.99
  • FIFA 18 (PS4, Switch) – $29.99
  • Forza Motorsport 7 (Xbox One) – $39.99
  • Grand Theft Auto 5 (PS4) – $29.99
  • Middle-earth: Shadow of War (Xbox One) – $29.99

Check out their ad here. The video game deals start on page 14.

Amazon

Okay, so Amazon deals will be starting November 17th and running through November 24th. That means random deals at random times. You can expect to see the same PlayStation deals here for the PS4 and the VR sets. That is the PlayStation VR Gran Turismo Sports Bundle at USD 299.99  and PlayStation VR Skyrim VR Bundle at USD 349.99.

Amazon you’ll have to keep checking out for their deals because they will always be updating their list. They have said they will offer the newest Just Dance game for 50% off.

Check out their deals here. At the top you’ss see “Deal in your favorite category.” That is where you’ll see “Video Games.” Click there for the video game deals.

Best Buy

Tickets to the Black Friday deal at Best Buy will be handed out around 3PM Thanksgiving Day and the doors open at 5PM. They have the same console deals with the PS4 and Xbox One here, including $40 controllers for both. They also have the Xbox One S (500 GB) Madden NFL bundle with an extra controller for $229.99.

Here are just some of the games on sale:

  • Mass Effect: Andromeda (PS4) – $14.99
  • Horizon Zero Dawn (PS4) – $19.99
  • Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (PS4) – $19.99
