Lilo's Lair #73: Overwatch Free Weekend and Other Game Deals. Presented by Saljack Enterprises. Gaming. Animation. Media. Entertainment. Woman Owned.

Hello everyone! Another work/school week is coming to a close. I have been as a sick as a dog this week. I don’t really know what that means. I figure it deals more with a play on words. That a dog is instead a guy with loose morals. You know, like the Elvis Presley song “Ain’t Nothing but a Hound Dog.” So, that means being sick as a dog, is being some morally depraved individual. Well, no not me. Just been regular sick and so I am looking forward to the gaming deals I can find for you guys and me too! Need something to lift the spirits!

The first big gaming deal is actually a heads up for next weekend. Overwatch is having another free weekend. Starting November 17th at 11 a.m. PT and ending November 20th at 11:59 p.m. PT.

This free weekend is for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4! You will need to have Xbox Gold or PlayStation Plus to be able to play on those systems. If on PC, then you will need to have Blizzard’s battle.net app.

What will be offered for free next weekend will be all 26 heroes and 16 maps. It will include Quick Play, Custom Games, the Arcade, and Loot Boxes. What’s also great is that if you decide to buy the game after this weekend, then you keep your progress (as long as you use the same account, of course).

To check out all the little details on that click here. You’ll find download instructions, specific times the free weekend starts where you’re at, and some other information.

Steam has revealed their weekend deal already. It is a Klei Publisher weekend sale. There are a lot of good sales for this. One good one is the Don’t Starve Mega Pack, 67% off, costing $12.71 for all the games in that series. Another is Invisible Inc. + the Contingency Plan Bundle. It is 75% off, costing $5.99 for the bundle. There is a nice selection of games, and they run from 40-80% off. Then there is one game at “only” 20% off, which is Oxygen Not Included Oil Upgrade. Check out the sale page here.

Now, that isn’t the only weekend sale going on Steam. The other big one is the Aspyr Publisher sale. This has a big selection of big name games such as the Civilization series, Borderlands, Bioshock, Call of Duty, Sim City, and more.

The newish game >Observer is included in this sale. It is 20% off, now costing $24. The most recent Civ (Civilization 6) is 33% off, costing $40.19. Another fantastic sale in the Civ series is the complete Civ 5 pack, which generally costs about $150, but is now 92% off and costs $12.27!! Bioshock Infinite is on there for 75%, costing $7.49. The sale is definitely worth a look, and you can check it out by clicking here.

Now, moving away from Steam we have GOG. Which is another game selling platform, and you can link your games to Steam. They are running a large sale for games “Made in Poland.” Games are up to 90% off. There are 65 games and expansions on the list, and some are the Witcher series! I’m not sure if you know this, but Witcher is being made into a television series by Netflix. That means if you haven’t played the games you should really consider it to get amped up for the tv series.

Anyway, in this GOG deal, all the Witcher games are on sale. That includes Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Game of the Year Edition for $20. That is 60% off of the current original price. This sale also includes the Shadow Warrior series. Shadow Warrior 2 is on sale for $20, which is 50% off.  There are even games in the one dollar range included in this deal that includes This War of Mine: Little Ones, which costs $1.99 (60% off). There is also the game Oh…Sir!! The Insult Simulator. That one costs 99 cents, 50% off. There are plenty of really low-end options on the game list. Options for 50 cents to $30.

Check out the GOG Made in Poland sale here.

Alright, the next place to check for deals this weekend is Humble, of course. They are running a sale called the Games Workshop Sale. Games are up to 90% off and include some favorite games! For instance Total War: Warhammer is on the list for 50% off ($30)! Definitely worth checking out if you like strategies. The sequel Total War: Warhammer 2 came out not long ago, and I played that one a little bit so far.

There are 45 items included in this sale, games and expansions alike. There are a lot from the Warhammer series. Which makes sense. If you are unsure what, Games Workshop is, it is a company best known for publishing tabletop war games but is not shy about video games either.

Check out the Humble Games Workshop sale here.

Now don’t forget that the free monthly games are still ongoing for Xbox and PlayStation. Here is my blog about November’s free Xbox games, and here is my blog about PlayStation’s free November games. This is a pretty good weekend for some deals. The sales I included in this blog have a good amount of games, so check them out if you are contemplating to add some games to your library for a deal!

Remember the Overwatch Free Weekend is not until next weekend though.

Glad to be in the know of the hottest games and sales. You’re probably right about playing Witcher before getting invested in the T.V. series. That way you’ll have a whole new appreciation of where the show originated from.
