Lilo's Lair #29: Top 7 Rated Games on Steam. Presented by Saljack Enterprises. Gaming. Animation. Media. Entertainment. Woman Owned.

If you’ve ever wondered what the true top rated, games are on Steam, then wonder no longer. I have put together a list of the top ten rated games on Steam. All of the games on this list have over 10,000 votes each, making their score more reliable.

#1 Portal 2

IMAGE FROM STEAM

Number one of the list is Portal 2 with a Steam rating of 98.64%. This is a first-person puzzle game. I attest to its awesomeness. This game is published by Valve, the corporation also responsible for the Half Life series, Dota 2, the Team Fortress series, and more. Portal 2 is the 2011 sequel to Portal. The scores across the board for this game are phenomenal, some claiming it as the best game of all time!

Portal 2 has won numerous awards including Ultimate Game of the Year in 2011, Best PC Game, Best Multiplayer Game, Best Male Performance, Best Downloadable Content and more. This is definitely a game to play. It is available for Windows, Linux, OS X, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. It can also be played on the Xbox One.

#2 Factorio

Factorio is second on this list with a rating of 98.5% on Steam. This game is a real-time strategy developed by Wube Software. This game started with a single developer and grew from there, with 15 developers for the game as of now. Fun fact, Factorio was made through crowd funding!

Let me go ahead and give you heads up. This game is only available for the computer–specifically Windows, Mac OS, and Linux. Don’t be too bummed if you’re a console player because this game doesn’t have stringent requirements for your computer. I’ve got a decade’s old laptop that can play it.

#3 One Finger Death Punch

Number three on the list is One Finger Death Punch with an overall Steam rating of 98.19%. This is an action video game that is available for Android, iOS, Windows, and Xbox 360. Silver Dollar Games developed and published this game.

What people and critics love about this game is the visual style, simple controls, and a large amount of content. This is one of those easy to learn, hard to master games. The only big complaint about this game is the simplicity can make the levels feel too similar.

#4 Iron Snout

IMAGE FROM STEAM

Iron Snout claims the fourth spot with a Steam rating of 97.89%. I had never heard of this game! It is made by SnoutUp Games and is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux as well as Android and iOS. This is an action fighting game about Mr. Piggy taking on and the bid bag wolves of the world and dominating them to death. It is an arcade style game.

People love this game because it’s just entertaining to play. It is a shorter game and relatively straightforward though. Okay, it’s simple. It is, however, a FREE game, so no reason to get your panties too bunched if you don’t like the simplicity.

#5 Portal

IMAGE FROM STEAM

Coming in at number five is the original Portal with a rating of 97.79%. I’m not sure why, but it makes me happy to see both Portal games in the top five of my list. Probably because I love them dearly.

Like Portal 2, this is a puzzle game published by Valve. Also Like Portal 2, it has received exceptionally high review scores from everywhere and has a list of awards. This original game is shorter than Portal 2, which is something you may or may not like. I don’t mind a shorter game sometimes, and I liked the length of this one. This game is available to play on Windows, Linux, OS X, Android, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.

#6 Counter-Strike

IMAGE FROM STEAM

Number six on the list is yet another Valve game–Counter-Strike, with a rating of 97.71%. This is the most dated game on the list, having been published back in 2000. Anyone remember where you were for “Y2K”? I was playing the Oregon Trail as a wee little one in elementary school–haha.

Counter-Strike is available for Windows, OS X, Linux, and the original Xbox. Apparently, the first eSport ESEA league started the first professional league playing Counter-Strike. Another fun fact is that this game was banned in Brazil for over a year for being a corruption to the upstanding citizen.

Now, watch this funny satirical trailer (or don’t) because it’s hard finding an original trailer for this old game:

#7 BattleBlock Theater

IMAGE FROM STEAM

Ending the list at slot number seven is BattleBlock Theater with a score of 97.51%. This game is a comedic platformer (you know, those action games where you jump from platform to platform) made by The Behemoth. I had not actually heard of this game, but have heard of its predecessor, Castle Crashers, made by the same developers. BattleBlock Theater is available for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, and Xbox 360.

This game is highly praised for not only its single player but also it’s co-op game-play (in which you can do things like setting your team mate on fire). If you like Super Mario Bros and have a sense of humor, then you’ll probably like this.

Except for Counter Strike, all the other games are new to me. I had tons of fun playing counter strike in my childhood but who hasn’t? Those were the best days where I just can’t wait to come home from school to play video games. Other than counter strike I am pretty impressed by Portal and Factrio. I was amazed by the video of Factrio like those tiny men building factories from the scratch. That was amazing. I hope I will give a try to all these games when I have the time. Thank you so much for sharing.

CS reminds me of memories of my childhood. A lot of people know and play Counter Strike. With it’s popularity, I’m surprise it’s not at number 1 on Steam. Anyhow, Portal 2 being number one sounds interesting. I can’t wait to try it!

In situations like this, you’d either wonder whether to jump on the bandwagon… or find out why people are raving about a certain game. I’d like to think of myself as part of those on the latter. Call me a doubting Thomas, err, Edgar. Haha

if I’m not working an office job, I’d be a pro Counter-Strike player. Back in 2000, playing this FPS was all I ever did. And pls don’t ask me how old I was. Ha ha ha
