Hey, what can I say? I’m a sucker for Pokemon. Always have been. In fact, I spent hours and hours trying to catch a Feebas in Pokemon Diamond so that I could evolve it into a Milotic. It didn’t work, unfortunately–Feebass are notoriously rare and difficult to catch in Diamond. But I tried my best! I swear I did!
I am obsessed with all things cute. I love cute stationery, cute blogs, cute clothes, cute games. A little weird, since I also like to play FPS games and watch horror movies. Never mind that. Since I’m obsessed with all things cute, it’s only natural that I’m obsessed with cute Pokemon!
That’s why without further ado: let’s say hello to 6 of the cutest Pokemon ever!
Mimikyu is an Alolan Pokemon. Its story is just so tragic!
“Mimikyu is a small Pokémon whose body is almost entirely hidden under a rag. Its beady black eyes are visible through holes in the body of its disguise, and the fringe of an amorphous foot or lower body appears to be visible under the hem of its rag. This lonely Pokémon thought that this disguise would allow it to make friends with people.”
Isn’t that the sweetest, saddest, most endearing thing you’ve ever read? I want to catch it and give it a huge hug! It makes me sad that Mimikyu is too shy and scared to be itself because it’s afraid of rejection! I think that we should learn from Mimikyu’s mistake and try to love ourselves more. What’s the point of changing ourselves to make other people love us? Should we just never take off our disguise?
Beauty & the Beast is my favorite Disney story and one of my favorite fairy tales. I’ve watched the cartoon movie over eight times, I swear. And I really like Milotic’s story too! Milotic evolved from Feebas, who honestly looks kind of scary. I like the dual nature of these two Pokemon: it must have been hard for Feebas to train so hard and up its Beauty stat! But eventually:
“Milotic is said to be the most beautiful of all Pokémon. When there are fights going on, it has the power to calm angry feelings and end arguments by releasing a wave of energy.”
Eevee is by far the most versatile Pokemon, with eight Eeveelutions so far. This large number means that you can basically pick your favorite type and evolve Eevee to match that type! Plus it’s a cute fox-like creature. The only problem here is that there are too many Eeveelutions, so if you wanted to make a team with them all, you’d have to leave out two.
“Eevee is said to have an irregularly shaped genetic structure that allows it to adapt to many different kinds of environments. Eventually, Eevee may evolve to better suit its surroundings.”
I wish I could adapt to my surroundings as well as Eevee does! Unfortunately, I’m a lot more stubborn.
Mew! In the lore, Mew is the very first Pokemon. Everyone who’s watched Pokemon 2000 has seen how cute Mew is! I don’t actually know what Mew is supposed to be (a… cat?), but you can’t deny that its tiny size and sweet voice aren’t adorable!
The best thing about Mew is that it’s actually quite powerful! Plus since it’s the first Pokemon, it can learn any move. That’s right: any move at all. It was one of my inspirations when I was a little girl! I always wanted to be cute and strong. I think it’s nice that I was able to be inspired by a Pokemon.
Okay, I know that creepy eye on its tummy is kind of weird, but hear me out! Jirachi is my favorite Pokemon of all time! I loved Jirachi’s Pokemon movie (granted, the last time I watched it was years ago) and ever since then I simply fell in love with it.
“Jirachi hibernates for extensive periods, forming a protective crystalline shell as it sleeps. However, it is still capable of fighting while asleep if it is in danger. It awakens for seven days every thousand years, but can also waken if sung to by a voice of purity. During the short periods when it is awake, Jirachi is said to grant wishes.”
I think it’s just a really romantic Pokemon! The idea of a Pokemon being able to grant wishes is very sweet and dreamy in my opinion. And it sleeps even more than the last Pokemon on this list, which I think is super impressive.
Snorlax was so frustrating in Pokemon Fire Red because he blocked the road and there was no way to move him until you got the Flute, but if you think about it, what’s not to love about Snorlax? He’s big, fluffy, and cuddly. I bet he’d make a great pillow to sleep on.
“Snorlax only to eat and seldom for exercises. It is not a picky eater, as its strong stomach allows it to eat even moldy food without feeling any ill effects. When hungry, it is not satisfied until it consumes 900 lbs. (400 kg) of food. Snorlax is docile enough to let children and small Pokémon bounce on its large stomach.”
Can you imagine? Bouncing on Snorlax’s stomach? That would be crazy and amazingly fun. Snorlax is a Pokemon after my own heart: it loves eating and sleeping. Those are two of my favorite pastimes!
So, what do you think of my list? It’s not a very balanced list, and I think it would make a pretty weak team, but hey–I love all these Pokemon. Actually, I think six is too small of a list! A better list would have 20 or even 50 Pokemon! Do you have any suggestions that I missed or that you think are better than the ones I listed? Let me know 🙂
