Howdy Gamer Friendz!

How many of you have followed the Life Is Strange series? How many of you have played it? For me, the game is epic… I just love everything about it. When I first got the game, I wasn’t too sure how I felt about but, shortly after I began playing, I realized just how genius the game really was. Seriously, if you haven’t played it, you totally should. It’s one of those games that really sucks you into the story, and you become almost friends with the main characters. It’s a gaming experience unlike any other.

Life Is Strange is a beautiful episodic adventure published by Square Enix & developed by Dontnod Entertainment. Compatible with Microsoft Windows, OS X, Xbox One, Xbox 360, & PlayStation 3 & 4. The progression of this game was and still is heavily influenced by player feedback. If you are looking for a game to get hooked on and haven’t played it yet, look no further because I’m about to tell you why this is it.

It all began back in 2015, based on the documentary Life Is Strange film from 2012. Our story focuses on the life on Max Caulfield, a student of photography whom realizes she has the ability to rewind time. Her skills carry a resemblance to what is know has The Butterfly Effect. Most of you all know exactly what I mean by that but for those who do not… The Butterfly Effect is a concept that suggests that even the smallest of causes can have a large impact on everything around us. The past, present, and future. At one point it was used for predicting weather forecasts but, quickly became a metaphor used for science in general.

This plays a huge part in the game, proving that every bit of your outcome can change based on every decision the player makes, no matter how significant or insignificant it may seem. In the beginning, Max has foreseen the future, and the oncoming of a massive storm headed straight for her hometown. In this vision she sees the destruction this will bring, leading her to do everything within her power to prevent as much loss as possible.

The game includes something known as Fetch Quests, the making of environmental changes, it is a form of puzzle solving and conversation that allow you to choose the dialogue… Again, be careful what you say as well as the decisions you make because it could very well change everything.

The town that Max calls home is called Arcadia Bay, a very fictional town with very realistic qualities. Max is a senior at the local high school, Blackwell Academy. The day we begin our journey with Max is October 7th, 2013. Yes, it is that specific, and for a reason, you won’t find out until later during gameplay. Max is in class when her vision hits her like a ton of bricks, the lighthouse in the town is struck and is destroyed by a massive tornado. Later in the day, she notices a fellow student, Kate Marsh, being bullied because of a picture showing the student kissing several students at a party. Feeling as if she couldn’t deal with the harsh treatment any longer, Kate later jumps off the roof of the girl’s dorm, ending her own life. The picture being passed around leads us to believe that Kate may have been drugged and in no way had control over her actions. Max confides in her best friend Chloe Price, regarding her secret abilities and together they are determined to figure out the truth and do their best to keep this tragedy from happening.

Now, that you have an idea of where the story starts, they have just come out with the latest Life IS Strange installment…. Life Is Strange: Before The Storm. This prequel is a stand-alone storyline and is set three years before the first game. This time around we play as 17 year old, Chloe, the best friend, as Max has moved away leaving her alone in Arcadia Bay, and I mean, Chloe really felt alone. Living with an abusive stepfather and battling bouts of depression, Chloe feels abandoned by Max and very alone. This addition tells us her story and how she made this through until Max’s return. We finally see how this rebel’s friendship with Rachel Amber, a beautiful, preppy & privileged girl that would seem to be her exact opposite. Soon, Rachel learns a secret abut her own family that eventually threatens to destroy everything she has worked so hard to accomplish and turns to Chloe for support. Together, they fight to defeat their demons and their past and eventually find the silver lining.

Okay, yeah so this story in very involved and very detailed so, I figured… I’ll give you a taste of the beginning and lead you up to this latest piece of the puzzle. Here’s the trailer from Life Is Strange, the beginning of it all…

How about that soundtrack??? I know right!? Love it!! Now here’s the trailer for Before The Storm…

If you have not yet played this, my hope is that you are well into your download process by now. Trust me… You will not be disappointed!

Thanks so much for stopping by Ky’s Korner today… Do me a favor and check back in tomorrow.. Until then… Ta-Ta, for now, my friends!!!

I´m so glad I found this post. I became so addicted to the game that I had to post about it. I like the graphics, but the coolest thing is the story line, it´s so not common to find these kind of subjects and feelings in a video game. It´s refreshing and I think it´s good to play something that helps you become a bit more sensitive about some of the issues in humankind.

This is free for PlayStation Plus members this month so I’m definitely downloading this one! Life is Strange does come with a significantly large file size, but based on the features you teased such as butterfly effect( loved that feature in the Until Dawn game) I think it’s going to be worth the download.

Not really a fan of screenplay-turns-game since most of the times they tend to drastically alter characters development. But will keep an eye on this

Lemme find that documentary. I’m more curious on the film it was based upon than the game itself LOL! I love movies too, btw.
