Ky's Korner #30: Alan Wake 2... Will It Happen Or Not??? Presented by Saljack Enterprises. Gaming. Media. Entertainment.

Howdy Friends!!

Are a fan of Alan Wake? Then you’re probably feeling much like I do about it.

Release Alan Wake 2 already!!

WE’VE WAITED LONG ENOUGH!!

The first installment left us with a lot of questions and fans have been dying to find out what happened next. I understand building up anticipation but…really?? It’s been over 16 years now… yes, 16 years if you can believe that mess. The original Alan Wake came out in 2010, and Alan Wake’s American Nightmare was released in 2012, only for the Xbox Live Arcade Service, so… I’d say it’s definitely time for a new edition.

Alan Wake is a psychological action thriller, focused around best selling fictional author Allen Wake. We follow Allen on his journey to find his missing wife, as she disappeared while the two were vacationing in a small fictional town in Washington known as Bright Falls. Suddenly Alan begins to experience scenes from his latest novel, a story he doesn’t even remember writing. Simply put there is no other game like it and all Allen Wake fans will most definitely agree with me on that!

It may have taken over 5 years to create Allen Wake but, it quickly made Time’s Magazines number one spot on their list of top 10 games of 2010. Seriously, if you have not played this game, you need to start it… like today… like right now. GO!!

The story progresses through stages, as if it were a mini TV series, always leaving you with an incredible cliffhanger. There are 6 “episodes” in the first series, and together they make up the first season and here we are still waiting for season 2. A web series known as Bright Falls as well as many books have been produced based on the Alan Wake storyline. Okay, now we’ve got a series and even books.. so where’s the game?? After doing a bit of research I found that the developers, Remedy Entertainment, have been truthful enough, I suppose. They have admitted to having partnership issues… basically, they were unable to come up with the funds. It is hard for me to think of that being a problem, the series has done so well. In the beginning, sales were slow, I’ll admit that much but, since then sales for Allen Wake have blown up and Remedy Entertainment confirmed this. Allen was published by Microsoft Studios and released for Xbox 360 and Microsoft PC, just giving credit where credit is due friends.

Remedy said publicly that it was taking a break from Allen Wake due to a less intriguing story line as well as the finding issues. I say… get better writers, talk to the right people and do it soon. Us hardcore Allen Wake fans are getting impatient! Just to sell it a little bit more, here’s the trailer for the original Alan Wake… beware… You will be hooked!

While on their break, Remedy released Quantum Break, this was their primary focus for quite some time. I’ll say it this game looks phenomenal as well, it’s surely on my list, and I even plan to make a video out of it. It impressed me that much! In fact, I can’t believe I haven’t played it yet… Here’s the trailer for Quantum Break in case you missed it. Another must play… trust me!

Many are saying this new Alan Wake will just never happen…. I think to much work has been done in it already for them to just toss it aside. It has become a cult classic, and there is a booty load of money to be made from it… not enough money, not enough investors, it needs a better storyline… whatever!! How can they back out of making the 2nd one knowing how much we love Alan Wake!? I just don’t get it. All I have to say is they better… and I mean it!! Lol …but for real. Wink-Wink! Check out this video below, you will see I am not the only one that feels so strongly about this….

In this second series Alan has, even more, access to weapons… but still using the trusty flashlight as the go to course of action. It took me some time to find a trailer for this game that may or may not happen… I was only able to find it’s demo and here it is…

How many of my gamer friends out there have had the Alan Wake experience? How much did you love the game? Do you guys think they absolutely have to make the 2nd one? Do you feel as strongly about as I do?? Let me know your thoughts, please!

Well, that’s it for today folks… Thanks so much for stopping by Ky’s Korner… Let’s chat again very soon!

Psychological thriller is quite interesting, plus it has no game similar to this one. This one should be awesome to gamers for sure. It has a series? I might see the trailer of the series. Those the series look the one on the game, like exactly?

I have never heard of such title. One thing I have notice is how can there be a part 2 if paet one is unheard of? seems weird to me.

Well well, looks like shell and subway sandwich are funding / paying to be featured in this game. The brand placement is quite obvious in this game.

I am not against product placements in games or movies. To be honest they help advertisers a lot. So what is the problem with that.

  9. The first game I think it released 7 years ago and it has so many cliffhanger events! Apart from waiting the Alan Walker 2 to be released, I wish to see another Max Payne game also.

I am interested on the drama behind the game than the game itself to be honest. No wonder it was never mainstream. The question is what happened during its inception?
