Hello, Fellow Gamers!
Don’t ask me why but, maybe it’s just my gamer brain… I’m sure some, if not most of you guys can relate but… I was just thinking back on all the games I have played and how some of them still stand out in my mind. Like certain cut-scenes or dialog or how the story took a turn that I was never expecting. All the games that took me by surprise and kept me guessing.
So, I have compiled a list of a few of them… I thought it would be cool to do a little recap. Let’s see if some of your epic moments match up with mine. This could be fun… we have a lot to talk about here!
#1. Dead Rising: Mow Em’ Down!
In Dead Rising, the hardest thing to do is complete a mission that requires you to go outside. And it’s even more difficult to venture outside without a weapon. Luckily in dead rising, you can use almost any random object to protect yourself. Some items working better than others. In this game, the outside world is crawling with zombies… As most of you know this game nowhere near easy…. but cutting those zombies down to size really helps! And by that I mean….MOWING those zombies down! If you are not familiar with outside territories in this game you will die… and you will die quickly! Unless…. you were able to find that lawnmower! That’s right, I said lawnmower! LOL…. finding this leads us to one of the most FUN ways to take out multiple zombies quickly! Here’s a clip from Dead Rising 3… Enjoy!!
#2. Batman Arkham Knight: Joker Is Dead:
I chose this one because throughout the story we see The Joker die. The creators did this so that, we as an audience would realize that Joker is no more… like for real this time… During gameplay we start to question ourselves. We saw him die but he kept popping back up, mainly to taunt our hero and make fun of him but… he was there none the less. Was Batman going insane?? Well, that is exactly what we are led to believe… And he was to a certain extent. In the end, we realize that The Joker, before death, injected Batman with a vial of his own blood. So… literally he is inside the head of the Bat causing him to think he’s going insane… haunting him because ultimately he was responsible for The Joker’s death….and Batman Doesn’t kill and even though it was The Joker, he will never forgive himself.
#3. LA Noire: The Chase Scene:
I had to mention LA Noire in this list. I loved playing this game so much…. I loved all the detail, the soundtrack, it all just really takes you back to that 1940’s gangster era. Gotta love that! Playing as detective Cole Phelps gets you into all kinds of trouble, always trying to do the right thing isn’t always easy for a cop in a town run by mobsters. The story takes place in Las Angeles, at the time it was a city where money talks and crime pays. Phelps aims to stop this. I chose this scene because it is so energy packed. I remember playing it and after it was over and I finally got through it. I realized I was holding my breath almost the entire time. Yeah… it’s that intense lol.. if you haven’t already, check it out for yourself and see what I mean… or even if you have seen it.. just sit back and enjoy it again.. You know it’s awesome!!
#4: The Walking Dead Episode 5: Respect Lee’s wishes or leave him be?
This is a heartbreaking scene and it’s so difficult to choose what to do. Clementine, a young girl that has survived the zombie take over has found a friend in Lee, a man who has lost it all. He takes Clementine under his wing and loves her as his own. Unfortunately, Lee has been bitten and is now turning. In this scene, he begs Clementine to end his life before he turns completely. It really is such an emotional scene. By this time not only has Clementine come to love Lee very much, we do as well. You must decide to either kill him and do as he asks or leave him to turn into one of them.
#5. The Last Of Us: Ellie Saves Joel:
An illness breaks out in Austin, Texas and our story starts with Joel… A father trying to escape the outbreak of an illness that turns people into man-eating zombie-like creatures. He’s determined to save his daughter Sara, his brother Tommy and himself. They gather things and attempt to leave town….However, they crash along the way and in the end he is the only survivor, or so we think. Ellie, our second main character has lost her family due to the outbreak as well. They are both now on a journey for survival. While on the hunt for weapons, Joel meets a group called the fireflies. A group that focused on fighting the resistance and finding a cure. Joel and his partner Tess make a deal with the “Queen” of the fireflies, she will get him the weapons and he will get Ellie to the capitol. This is how they meet. They save each other many times throughout the game but.. watching Ellie kick butt and take names is certainly epic! Watch and see…
#6: Red Dead Redemption: John Marston’s Final Showdown:
The old west is where this one takes us. To a man who’s lived a life bound to crime and murder, John Marston. This is one of those games that lets you choose just how bad you want your character to be. Marston is a member of a gang that he desperately wants out of. He wants to make a better life for his wife and son and he vows to find a way. Marston & the gang rob a bank and he is wounded in the shootout. Though the would is not lethal, he lets the rest of the gang believe he is dead. Three years into the story he is found out by Edgar Ross, a government official that makes a deal with Marston…. agreeing to excuse all his past crimes and give him a life of solitude with his family…. But…. in order for this to happen, he must work for Ross. This is the only way for him to get his redemption. Ross has taken Marston’s wife and son hostage until his work is done. In the end, the law comes for Marston and surrounds his home. In this scene, Marston does the only thing he can do to ensure his families safety.
SPOILER ALERT!! If you haven’t played Red Dead Redemption then… LOOK AWAY!! And.. if you have played it…There’s also an alternate ending so be sure to check that out too.
