Ky's Korner #8: New Assassin's Creed Headed To Egypt. Presented by Saljack Enterprises. Gaming. Media. Entertainment.

Howdy Friends!

Guess What!? There’s a new Assassin’s Creed set to be released very soon… And it’s going to be epic!

Up until 2015Ubisoft had been pushing out new Assassin’s Creed games every year. However, in 2016 the series took a breather. A very good idea in my opinion. Sometimes, I think it’s best to take some time off to create something brilliant, even from a classic such as AC. Pushing out so many games can leave your audience feeling tired and can make the story line feel rushed. Taking this time off was a smart move for the creators. A fresh start for our beloved Assassin’s Creed is just what we needed. A new take on this oh, so loved series will keep it going strong.

Our new scene takes place in Egypt… Yes… Egypt!

How sweet is that!?

With so many back to back installments it seemed as if the public may have been losing interest. In fact sales for the game were at an all time low toward the of 2015…Probably sparking the sudden need for time off. Then the movie came out, while it was good (I saw it in the theaters, I had too… couldn’t help myself) it also began to seem like…to much. For a while there it seemed like Assassin’s Creed was everywhere…

I mean right??

Who’s with me?

(It’s only  had 17 installments since it first debuted back in 2007.)

Don’t get me wrong…When the Assassin’s Creed series started out, I was addicted. In fact, it still is one of my favorite games, and even one of my favorite story lines and yet I found myself feeling burnt out.

That’s why, when I heard this one would be taking place in Egypt, I thought…. Okay, this could be different…this could be cool. Considering… We’ve perched on the vantage point of so many awesome places across the world, I thought what’s left?? Oh yes, Egypt.. right on! But, truly when you think about it the list of places this game has taken us to is HUGE!!!

I’ll do my very best to name them all…..

Jerusalem, Damascus,  Acre, Florence,  Venice, Rome, Constantinople, Boston, New York, Havana, Nassau, Kingston, Paris and Victorian London. There were also two 2D spinoffs taking place in China & India.

Like Woah!! That’s a heck of a lot of places!

In what they are calling as of now, Assassin’s Creed: Empire, you can count on exploring tombs, and pyramids galore. This was the rumor some time ago, an individual who claimed to work for Ubisoft was thought to have leaked a pic. Kotaku backed the claim, agreeing that the pic was accurate… (Kotaku is a very trusted source for all things Assassin’s Creed.) Then in February of this year, another image popped up and we were led to believe it was Prince Of Persia related when in fact it is now thought to be the beginning stages of AC Empire. Here’s the leaked image…take a gander if you’d like:  https://goo.gl/images/8D3pMn

It is also rumored that this character and a shot of the pyramids can be spotted in AC Black Flag. Gotta pay attention to those Abstergo emails to find it, though. Let me know if you do because I’ve never noticed it but… I have been known to skip and email full of info from time to time. I know…I know… it’s shameful.. lol.

As far as the map goes… it’s much larger this time around. Developed by the same creators of Black Flag, they focused on making the map range even larger than in the Pirate Adventure. The setting in Egypt creates some very cool features such as Mirages. They are said to play a large part in the desert scenes. Empire is said to be the prequel to the Assassin’s Creed series, and the star character is a distant relative of AltairWoohoo! This is exciting news!

One thing we can count on for sure is that Empire will be embracing a whole new perspective on storytelling. Ubisoft’s Serge Hascoet has said that … Linear narratives should be secondary and that games should be like anecdote factories. Empire is the first of the series to fully embrace this change.

As of now, there is no definitive release date, only rumors that it will be out this year sometime in October. This would make sense…most of the previous titles were released in October and if not… usually in November. Though, some sources speculate that it may not be 2017 at all. So to me, this means… no one really knows and Ubisoft is doing a great job at keeping it on the down low. With so much leaked info out there already, I imagine they are doing their best to keep that part under wraps.

I’ll keep an eye out for any info on the actual…set in stone release date… and I’ll be sure to keep you guys informed!!

SOOOO appreciate you stopping by Ky’s Korner!

Talk soon Friends!

Awesome review of what’s to come. I can’t believe how many countries they’ve taken the Assassin’s Creed gang. You must get to do a lot of traveling when designing a video game.

Sounds good if true, it’s about time they stopped putting them out every single year and took some time to make some real changes and improvements… And also make sure the game works properly, refresh… !!!

Well finally! I thought they’d never come to Egypt. I mean, of all places, it took them this long to choose this ancient place! I’m stoked, to say the least!

It’s really something new and I am looking forward in playing it. The Egypt setting that’s so cool! It’s a bit ancient this time and might they include a bit of the world’s history here I guess in this new creed as what we all know about the pyramids and the like.
