G’Day Gamer Guys and Gals!

It’s the middle of the week and we are that much closer to the weekend!

To help you get through to the future… let’s take a trip to the the past!

In today’s blog, I want to put a smile on your face…

I want to get and feel all excited and a touch nostalgic… 🙂

How am I going to do it?

In today’s blog,  I am going to show you where you can play all of your favorite retro games for FREE, online!

That’s right, all of our favorite games from our childhood available to play for FREE!

Today, I am going to specifically touch on sites that you can play in your browser, and don’t require any downloads, but we’ll also touch briefly on other ways to play our favorite retro games at the end of this article.

So whether you want to save the princess with Mario, want to go back on quests with Zelda and Link..or get back “in the loop” with Sonic – keep on reading!

Here are a few of my favorite websites where you can retro games online for free with no downloads required!:

“Playretrogames.com has all the oldies!”

Nintendo, Sega, Super Nintendo with Sonic games, Mario games and Gameboy games.

Some of my favorites from this site are Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World and Super Mario Bros. But this is only a small fraction of the titles they have on this site. The graphics are perfect and as soon as the title songs play for the games…I guarantee you will be smiling! Truth be told, the controls have a little to be desired in my opinion. But they do have multiple options of connecting a controller depending on the OS you are using. This is a free site that I highly recommend.

“Play Retro Games Online!”

This site is impressive! You can play almost every game you remember and even some you don’t! Game oldies has games from systems like: Nintendo Sega, TurboGrafx, Sony Playstation, Atari, Neo Geo and so many more! With all of the systems they offer, imagine the amount of gaming hours you can get from this site! (With Mortal Kombat being just one of the games offered, you can see why I say that!) The loading takes a little bit longer than usual, but that, of course this because of the size of the more in-depth games. Nevertheless, for a free online retro gaming site -This is one of my top pics!

RETROGAMES.CZ

“Welcome to the World of Old Games!”

Not to be confused with playretrogames.com, RETROGAMES.CZ has rightfully established its own category!

And the way they set themselves apart from the rest is by offering some of your favorite, obscure games that you won’t find on many other sites. Such as: Robocop2, Virtual Bart, Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle and so many more! On this site, you can play the games you’ve always wanted, but couldn’t afford when you were 10! Check out this site today!

Now I promised you another option of retro gaming and I intend on delivering!

In order to play these online games, you need to use Emulators.

But what are emulators exactly?

Emulators are a software that mimic the old game systems and allow you to play “ROMS.”

ROMS are exact copies of the original classic games playable on these emulators.

For example, SNES9x is the emulator that would allow you to play the original TMNT games, Street Fighter, Super Mario Bros – all the original Super Nintendo Games.

Another example would be Fusion, which is an emulator of the Sega Genesis system which would allow you to play the ROMS like, Altered Beast, Sonic, Toe Jam and Earl, etc.

Downloading the games is easy! Go to any ROM website such as: coolroms.com and emuparadise.com – pick a game, download it, put it in the same folder as the emulator, then simply double click your game and you will be able to play!

This allows you to build your own game library on your OS and play all of the classic games you have always wanted to play!

As I mentioned earlier, you can also connect a controller so you can play your new games the right way!

Tune in next week where I will cover the Ultimate Emulator and how you can easy build an arcade with hundreds of games right on your computer!

Thank you so much for taking a trip down memory lane with me!

Come back tomorrow!

On Thursdays, I answer reader and viewer comments and questions from our social media!

See you then! 😉 xxoo
