No matter which console you own you have no excuse not to follow this diet. All of the best selling gaming consoles have add-on, movement focused additions that are all designed to make you flail around and get some exercise. Granted I don’t think I can jump in one spot in my basement pretending I am avoiding man eating turtles for four hours, that not only wouldn’t be fun it could very well be a form of torture.
That is where the first foundation of The Gaming Diet kicks in: Moderation. Any person on the planet can achieve whatever goal they choose if they are patient and take small steps towards the finish line so the next time you have a GameDay all to yourself I propose you follow these simple steps:
1) Go outside. I know weird right? Go to the store and get your snacks but make two of your choices remotely healthy.
2) Select a movement focused sport, fitness or action adventure game and play it for 20 minutes.
Here is where the Reward part kicks in:
3) You have got your juices flowing so now you get to pick your favorite sit down, shoot em up, all engrossing game and go nuts. Enjoy you have earned it. But only for two hours.
When your time is up call your Mom, feed the cat and go for a walk and catch some new little digital buddies on your cell phone. If there is still daylight repeat steps one through three. I guarantee you will feel better for doing it.
